How does this domain name generator build suggestions?

This tool uses a simple, predictable pattern: it takes your keyword, lowercases it, strips any spaces, and wraps it between a fixed list of 10 short prefixes (get, try, use, my, go, the, just, one, up, pure) and 13 suffixes (hq, hub, lab, kit, pro, app, io, ly, fy, studio, works, cloud, stack). Every prefix is combined with every suffix, producing up to 130 possible names, of which the first 60 are shown. Each result always ends in the .com top-level domain, written as prefix + keyword + suffix + '.com' with no spaces, hyphens, or numbers. The generator runs purely in your browser as you type, so suggestions update live. It is a brainstorming aid, not an availability checker: it never queries WHOIS, DNS, or any registrar, so a name appearing here says nothing about whether it is registered or for sale. The fixed word lists mean output is deterministic for a given keyword rather than random, and the affix style suits SaaS, app, and startup-flavored brands more than formal or traditional business names.

Common use cases

  • Brainstorming a startup or SaaS brand name around a core product keyword.

  • Finding an alternative when your ideal exact-match .com is already taken.

  • Generating a shortlist of catchy app names before checking availability at a registrar.

  • Spinning up name ideas for a side project, blog, or newsletter in seconds.

  • Exploring affix patterns (getX, tryX, Xhq, Xly) to see which reads best for your niche.

  • Quickly producing options to test with teammates or an audience before committing.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool check if these domains are available?
No. It only builds name strings by combining words; it never queries WHOIS, DNS, or any registrar. Copy a name you like and check it at a registrar such as Namecheap, Cloudflare, or Porkbun.
Why are all results .com?
The generator hard-codes the .com extension onto every suggestion. It does not offer .io, .app, .co, or other TLDs. If you want those, take the prefix+keyword+suffix part and try it with another extension at a registrar.
How many names do I get?
Up to 60. There are 10 prefixes and 13 suffixes, which is 130 possible combinations, but the list is capped at the first 60 results.
Are the suggestions random or always the same?
Always the same for a given keyword. The prefix and suffix lists are fixed and combined in a set order, so the same keyword produces the same names every time.
Can I use spaces or multiple words?
Spaces are stripped automatically, so the keyword is treated as one continuous string. Typing 'my shop' becomes 'myshop'. For multi-word brands, enter them joined together.
Is my keyword sent to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser as you type. Your keyword and the generated names are not uploaded or stored anywhere.
Will it suggest a name with my exact keyword alone?
No. Every result wraps your keyword with both a prefix and a suffix, so you never get the bare keyword.com. Use the tool for affix-style ideas, then check shorter variants manually.
